Cynthia & Zack | Wedding At The Hideaway at Crazyman's

A few weeks ago I had the privilege of travelling to Illinois to photograph Cynthia & Zack's wedding day! These two have been waiting with a lot of anticipation for their big day, after having postponed it because of Covid, but also because they've been dating for what seems like a century. On July 31st it finally happened.

The day began with Cynthia and her girls getting ready, rain outside, champagne inside; nothing but excitement and smiles all around. Cynthia wanted to make sure to hide her dress from everyone as to not spoil the surprise when she was in it for the first time, so we hid it behind a giant whiteboard until she got dressed. And boy was the surprise worth the wait! (See photos below for the surprised faces!) Cynthia looked beautiful in her dress, but what really catches my eye about her is her genuine smile. Her dress couldn't compare to the joy that her face radiated. She carried this smile to their ceremony at St. Paul's all the way through to their reception at The Hideaway at Crazyman's.

I've been to a lot of weddings, but this one was different for me for a few reasons. First, I really connect with Cynthia and Zack's interests. We're all dog lovers and owners, and they had a table at their reception for take home treats for their pups! (I LOVED this idea!) I also learned during their reception that many of their milestones in their relationship happened while watching two of my favorite TV shows ever, Friends and The Office. I definitely may have hollered some cheers during that fun announcement! Second, I was overwhelmed by the amount of kindness from the bridal party, family, and guests. I could really tell from them that Cynthia and Zack are the most authentically kind people to have this genuine group of family and friends. The toasts were all heartfelt and full of warm stories of childhood and family. The parents were so kind to everyone but especially to me, as the photographer, to make sure I had everything I needed at the reception. Needless to say, the entire night felt like a night with family.

Cynthia & Zack,

Thank you for trusting me with your wedding photos! It was such a joy for me to watch as you committed your lives wholeheartedly to each other in front of your amazing family and friends. It was evident that you both are so loved and cherished and I have no doubt that family legacy will continue into your new family. Your dedication to each other and to your faith was inspiring to all who celebrated with you, and I wish you nothing but the best in your marriage for years to come. Congratulations newlyweds!

XOXO, Meghan
